Skin is often approached with a ‘one size fits all’ viewpoint. Many dermatology practices are swamped, fulfilling the need to prioritize the treatment of malignant skin conditions. Additionally, cosmetic procedures have become a main focus in dermatology.
By the same token, in the last 10+ years, social media has become the public’s main reference point for skin. Furthermore, it has also become a heavy, influential driver for the professional.
A lot of skin conditions that don’t necessarily pose a health risk can be approached in a very stagnant and trivial manner. The time spent with a patient is a small window, averaging between 2-5 minutes. It’s simply not enough time to properly read the skin.
My niche is proper identification and successful treatment of common, chronic skin disorders. Additionally, I am well versed and familiar in the recognition and treatment of common canine and feline zoonosis, of or relating to the skin. This has allowed for an extensive knowledge and thorough understanding of the behavior and reaction of the facial dermis and epidermis.
